CBIC Introduces Self Certified Origin Framework Under India UK CETA

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), has laid down the operational framework for implementing self-certified Origin Declarations under the India–UK CETA. 

Replacing the traditional certificate of origin system,the Circular introduces an electronic authentication process culminating in the generation of a Unique Reference Number (URN), which importers must quote while claiming preferential tariff treatment.
