GST Reimbursement Limited

The Karnataka High Court held that while a contractor may seek reimbursement of the additional GST burden from the employer under the terms of the contract, the statutory liability to pay GST remains governed exclusively by the GST laws. 

Courts cannot direct tax authorities to permit filing of revised returns, waive statutory interest or penalties, or relax limitation contrary to the provisions of the GST enactments.
