Misreporting of Income needs to be set out

The Madras High Court set aside a penalty imposed on the ground that the show cause notices and penalty order failed to disclose the specific basis for alleging "misreporting of income." 

The Court held that misreporting carries serious civil consequences and therefore requires strict compliance with principles of natural justice.
