No stamp duty on Auction Certificate

The Bombay High Court has reaffirmed that an auction purchaser under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code cannot be compelled to pay stamp duty merely for filing a sale certificate in Book No. 1. Unless the certificate is used for any other purpose, it is neither compulsorily registrable nor liable to stamp duty.
