RBI Ombudsman to consider borrowers complaint

The Calcutta High Court, by order dated 7 July 2026, disposed of a writ petition filed by GSCO Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. challenging the failure of the Reserve Bank of India to consider its complaint against a finance company for allegedly violating the RBI's Fair Practices Code during repossession and auction of financed vehicles. 

The Court granted liberty to the petitioners to file a fresh complaint under the RBI Ombudsman Scheme in the prescribed manner and directed the Ombudsman to decide the complaint within six weeks.
